Hi Bloggers! After bouncing some ideas around with a colleague I have updated my Animoto: Characteristics and Feelings to Foster Connections. Here is the new release, hot off the web:
I think you did a great job on this Animoto! I really like how you didn't use pictures with only people in it. That'll help the students conntect with fiction characters. You also incorporated many different emotions. I can see this being a great tool to show all the way threw once, and then show it again stopping at each slide to dig deeper.
Like this version--you challenge the students to answer before giving your own suggestions later in the video. Let us know how your students react by updating the post when you have a chance.
I really like that you asked the students to come up with their own ideas of how the character was feeling without immediately telling them what you were thinking. I think this is a great video! It can be used for a variety of ages. I think my students could really relate to the "feelings" of the characters in the pictures. Great video!
Shannon, I showed my students and they loved shouting out character traits. We had some really great discussions about why they were choosing them. Having the answers at the end was great too because it gave them some other suggestions that they didn't get. My colleague showed her students and they had the same reaction. Thank you!
